Kkumdoli is the mascot of the 1993 Daejeon Expo that proposed peace for all mankind and a future vision of coexistence and co-prosperity through advancements in science & technology and industry as well as encouraged youth to have dreams and hopes. It was the first mascot from a developing country to be officially approved at the General Assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE).
The adorable and joyous baby space fairy was inspired by Dokkaebi that contradicts yet emphasizes the most advanced science & technology. A star antenna can cast spells just like a magic wand in a fairytale and communicate with all things in the universe, while an oval-shaped electron orbit and nucleus represent the future vision of science & technology.

Daejeon Blues Festival

The Daejeon Blues Festival is a Newtro street culture festival that recreates the 1970s to 1990s in the original downtown area.
The first festival in 2021 was held as a festival to deliver messages of comfort and hope to the people who were exhausted from COVID and merchants in the original downtown area.
The 2nd Daejeon Blues Festival is expected to take place as a festival where all generations can communicate with the memories of the OB generation and the fun of the MZ generation.

Seo-gu Healing Art Festival

Let us introduce the Daejeon Seo-gu Healing Art Festival, a festival of light, culture, and art that unfolds in the city center.
The Daejeon Seogu Healing Art Festival, which marks its 6th anniversary this year, will be held under the theme of Stimulate the Imagination! Cultural Sympathy!
It is a culture and art festival that reflects the latest trends and consists of various culture and art programs.

The Healing Art Market, Art Tree, and Art Light Tunnel are the most famous programs, and through the Art Market, which is run by active artists across the country, visitors can view and purchase various artworks.
Visitors can also see and purchase various works of art through the art market that will be run by active artists all over the country.
The Art Tree and Art Light Tunnel, which boasts participation by companies, institutions, and hospitals, will work together to provide a wonderful sight for visitors.

Yuseong Chrysanthemum Festival

The Yuseong Chrysanthemum Festival has established itself as one of the foremost festivals of Daejeon with its original flavor and various attractions.
It provides a variety of attractions and experience events, including 200,000 chrysanthemums such as daryundaejak, hyunaejak, garden mum, large mushroom, animal, and chrysanthemum waterfall sculptures, LED street, and various photo zones.

The Daejeon Science Festival is a festival where visitors can learn and cultivate the creative imagination of the future through innovative technology that converges science and culture based on the infrastructure of Daedeok Innopolis.
The theme of the festival is an interactive, participatory festival where people with a passion for technology, educators, technology hobbyists, engineers, science club members, writers, students, companies,
and amateurs and professionals can come and enjoy regardless of occupation and age.
It is composed of a Sci-Art type program that harmonizes science and art, with residents and people in the scientific community working together under the keyword of makers.

Daejeon Roots of Filial Piety Festival

Daejeon Roots of Filial Piety Festival is the only festival in Korea where one can see and feel the spirits of their ancestors, find their roots, and experience traditional filial duty in the only Roots park built with the theme of people’s family names.
The park is an education center that boasts beautiful natural scenery in the city and searches for one's roots.
In Roots park, there is the Korean Genealogy Museum, which exhibits genealogy materials donated by families across the country.
It is a place where people can experience the spirit of their ancestors, and it is also in the spotlight as a place for unity and meeting between families.
Daejeon Roots of Filial Piety Festival is a cross-generational festival where grandfathers, grandmothers, mothers, fathers, and children can all participate and get along, so visitors can feel the importance of family and filial piety.
